Our client is a global leader in prescription pharmaceuticals, non
prescription consumer health care products and pharmaceuticals for animal
health, employing over 50,000 employees worldwide with manufacturing
facilities in 4 continents. Appreciating that the business adapts to the
needs of its changing market place they put a great emphasis on transforming
the procurement structure to meet the needs of these changes. Strategic
sourcing is seen as being a critical element of their corporate strategy to
drive profitability through reducing costs. Therefore they are looking for
several sourcing / category professionals accustomed to and experienced in
change management to work at one of the locations in Poland, Austria, Russia
or United Kingdom.
MISSION
Reporting to Director of Strategic Sourcing EMEA, you will be responsible for
the corporate indirect categories such as Professional services, HR,
Facilities, Travel, IT and consumables. Primarily you will be involved in
developing and implementing sourcing strategies, organising and leading cross
function teams with the responsibility for negotiating supply agreements,
managing and developing supplier performance. Some of the major
responsibilities will include:
Development of sourcing project plans through milestones and implementation
Structuring and negotiating supply agreements and managing supplier
relations and performance to ensure all identified savings/benefits are
realised
Co-ordinating local sourcing, on EMEA led initatives. Assisting in
undertaking opportunity analysis across the EMEA region to identify projects
to deliver significant cost savings/value improvements
Managing contract standardisation and compliance
Assisting in the sharing of best practice and benchmarking exercises
through a global and regional network
Acting as a focal point of market knowledge and expertise
Developing strong supplier management programs and work to minimize
transactional processing cost for non-critical items by utilising automation,
standardisation, and consolidation
Educating stakeholders and team members on Group Sourcing Methodology and
best procurement practices to maximise the value received for expenditure.

REQUIREMENTS
For this assignment you will need:
University Degree level education in relevant discipline
Best practice and /or consultancy background preferred with good
appreciation and experience in strategic sourcing
Proven track record in category management of corporate indirects
Comfortable with making the right commercial decision based on cost
containment, risk mitigation, adherence to government legislation and
corporate social responsibility
Consultancy style in influencing and stakeholder engagement, with the
ability to influence and interact with senior management
Experienced in selling the concept of procurement in order to ensure
maximum compliance and proactive use of the Strategic Sourcing group
Fluent English, other languages are additional asset
